Vladimir Nabokov Good Readers and Good Writers
Nabokov's loving passionate perspective of a good reader is not just simply reading the story, but feeling it, living it, imagining it. Literally create the story in the readers mind to get the full enjoyment that the author intended. It would almost be like becoming one with the story. Nabokov believes that when reading the story a good reader can picture the time frame, the clothes that the people wore, what the characters were feeling, what they looked like and acted like. In this deep realm of reading one can experience the story and appreciate the author. I do agree with Mr. Nabokov's eloquent perspective of a good reader. I personally have experienced this level of reading a couple of times, and I see why good readers like books over movies. The book is more descriptive, you can almost feel the characters heart wrenching agonizing pain.
My perspective of a good reader is the vivid ability to dream and imagine the story in your mind. I also believe, the reader should not have a preconceived idea of how good or not the book will be before reading it. This would be a terrible injustice to the book and the author. I consider myself a moderately good reader. I wish I could honestly say I was a good reader, but I don't feel as passionate towards reading as I probably should. I still feel that at this point in my life I have not slowed down enough to fully appreciate reading for enjoyment. I generally read for necessity now because of time restrictions. By Dorothy Kee

Introduction:
Hi, my name is Dottie. I am a student now at Yavapai Community College. I am seeking a degree in Nursing. I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years. I am excited to start this process and English 102 is my first class. I am not new to college I did 51 credit hours of college 21 years ago. Yeah, that's a long time ago. I know. I am new though at doing classes on line this is my first class ever on line. I guess that makes me a (NEWBEE). I would love some suggestions from those of you who have done classes on line or some tips. Well I await someones answer. Thanks
